CRAVE is an derivative of the MultiDUCS, an special interest group of DUCS (DBIT Undergrad Computer Society). The project due to remarkable success gave birth to new organization which today we call CRAVE. CRAVE will always follow DUCS frame work designed for it but has evolved from its initial stages.

For effective functioning CRAVE is split into different departments.These departments (also know as research areas) consists of students working on various project. Each student is assigned a project and as per the genre of the project the students are placed in the appropriate departments. Project Manager monitors the progress of these departments and also consults them from time to time.

 

Given below are list of some departments:

System Administration:

This team as the task maintaining the machines in CRAVE Labortory. There are also asked to automate procedures, optimize and monitor network and perform some other system administration related tasks.

 

Web Development:

This team is responsible for the technical maintainence of CRAVE Joomla CMS and CRAVE wiki.

 

Documentation:

The team is asked to maintain, structure and moderate the articles in CRAVE wiki.

 

Creative Visual/ Sound:

The department consists of Graphic designers, Graphic programmers, Video Editing team, Sound engineers and editing team, 3D Animation artists.

 

E-learning/ Training:

This team comprises of trainers and personals responsible for creating and preparing packages required by educational bodies.

 

Game Development:

This department is newest addition to list comprising of students working on various aspects of game development. Currently team as initiated with use of blender's internal game engine.

 

Research & Development:

This departments comprises of students working on research based projects. Mostly all final year engineering students volunteer to be a part of this team where they are required to present an project at the end of the B.E. Degree.

 

CRAVE and DUCS work in collaboration in many different area to mutually benefit each other in order to evolve a mechanism for long time survival and enlarge the scope of research in DBIT. A pictorial presentation of the different areas in DUCS & CRAVE can be displayed as shown below:
