Content Creation and Archival
- The CRAVE Lab falls short of a file-server. Although we have a server machine, which does not really qualify to be a multimedia server, we will use the resources of the entire lab to create content and archive it over the NFS, which is 'master'ed/serviced at the server (10.0.1.241), the remaining being slaves/clients. This leaves us with about 50GB * 20 clients + 100GB * 1 server = 1.1 Tera-Bytes of storage, which is not a bad number.
- We intend using DSpace or OpenClipart.org to archive and index the multimedia content that the lab produces.
- Now a file-server would be preferred over the NFS for an easy centralized archival of the content that CRAVE produces. This can be achieved using the SAMBA file-sharing system.
