Lab setup2008

This was third lab setup at CRAVE laboratory. It involved the following procedures:

OS Installation

CRAVE Multimedia Geek(Customized ubuntu Gutsy) was installed on all 19 machines. 2 machines where installed with i386 version of OS for testing and sound based work. Only one machine was installed with Ubuntu Studio 7.10 Gutsy.

Distro Customisation

The OS was further customized using using Distro Customization Shell script to install CRAVE gray theme.

Earlier procedures where conducted to install ldap on gutsy but due to failure to implement the ldap installation was delayed. Currently the team aims to provide ldap drive access through sshfs automated by python and tkinter.


Later on some machines Ubuntu Studio 7.04 was tried.
