CRAVE Mascot

Welcome

This Wiki is intended to document all that is done in DUCS and CRAVE. One of the core goals of CRAVE and its founder DUCS is to capture, store and harness knowledge - by documenting everything that is done in the organization. This goal is to enable knowledge sharing to take place on a large scale.

To realize this goal CRAVE aims to build a vast knowledge base so that it acts like a one stop help center. The implementation of this objective is CRAVE Wiki where project ideas/ documentations, tutorials , HOW-tos and other useful information are hosted.

Who are we?

CRAVE is a recursive acronym for CRAVE Research in Audio Visual Engineering. It is a Multimedia Research Facility initiated by DUCS (DBIT Undergrad Computer Society) at Don Bosco Institute of Technology (Kurla, Mumbai). Its sole purpose was to bring about awareness of the role of multimedia & open source technologies in today’s world. Its mission is to build a Multimedia Production house running only on open source and free applications. It provides it services to educational bodies and corporations in need of open source multimedia applications. It also guides institutions to establish similar Multimedia Research Facilities.

DUCS stands for DBIT (Don Bosco Institute of Technology) Undergrad Computer Society. DUCS exists to pursue technical activities beyond and above the scope of the curriculum. We are a volunteer-based society that only admits DBIT students and faculty. It is an organization that provides for knowledge building and sharing within the DBIT community. Technically speaking, DUCS is more of a framework than an organization. CRAVE is a result of one such special interest group following the DUCS framework.

Today CRAVE and DUCS work together in achieving their individual goals and maximizing the potential of DBIT infrastructure.
